reflections:0) of the past year...

Well my on-line name says it best reflections:0).... I have been on-line with the name reflections for a really long time 10 years now... It all started out because, my husbands business name is Wildlife Reflections... I thought that, that is truly what crafting is for me a reflection and that is how the name came to be... If you asked most of my on-line friends what my name really is they may not even know it...:0) I am total fine with that....LOL

If you have known me for any length of time you would know that this has been my siggy from the start... I wrote it and I try to live by it too...

We all need a little time to reflect SBing is the way that I have found to reflect my past, present, and future...:0) © By: reflections:0)

But it is not just SBing it is all crafting for me...

If I pick up the cookbook it brings in the past for me and cooking with my grandmother as a child... Grandma does not cook a lot any more but, I remember how great a cook she was when I was a kid... She put so much love into all of it that I too love to cook now... Thank you, for that gift grandma....:0)

If I pick up the paints I think of DH's granny and how she loved to paint and that it too rubbed off onto me...:0) Thank you and god bless you we miss you Granny....

If I am making cards for the troops I think of most of the men in my family because, most of them have served and or, are serving... God speed little brother come home safe...

Thinking back over this last year I have learned a lot and made a lot of new friends... I thank all of you that have touch my life in some way... Your imprint will live on forever in my heart...

We went on a great two week vacation that start out in Reno at the World Taxidermy show, I did say my husbands business name is Wildlife Reflections.... He did well for his first time at a world show and the fact that hie fish had a last minute issue... We got to Reno and it was so cold out it snowed on us and when he went to get the fish out for judging the resin fin broke just from the heat of his hand... We then went on to Vegas to catch up with BIL and SIL for the second week... I also got the chance to met up with my Aunt whom was in Vegas from MI. to be at a reunion for my uncles Navy time... I had seen her just a few short months before when we lost my uncle to cancer and I had flown home...

The adopted in-laws came home and we where happy to see them all tan from being down in AZ....

We went to a nieces wedding and it was grand... She is one luck girl she got one of the good ones...:0) Our wish for them is a long and happy life full of love...

We had fun trips to the beach and to my sisters beach house... Which we saved from burning down... We just happened to have stopped by on a day trip to the coast and I wanted make sure our key worked because the next weekend we had to ourselves just the two of us... The two weeks before we had bad storms and the gas and power had been out... This is just her families fun place so, they do not live in it full time... She had talked the gas co. into using the hide a key and going into the house to turn/lighting the gas back on... Well they did but, they left all four burners burning on high in the kitchen... It had been that way for almost a week by the time we got to it the house was really hot and the mini blind in the window behind the cook top was sagging...

Another niece graduated from high school and her little sis graduated from kindergarten...:0) We are so, very proud of both girls... The oldest is now in beauty school and the baby is in first grade...

A friend talked me into starting my own blog... TY, Stacy JBgreendawn.... {HUGZ}

We had many fun outings with family and friends... Fourth of July was hot but, a great time was had by all the family and friends at BIL and SIL house...

Thanksgiving was not the best for me because, I woke with awful nerve pain in my neck and went to the E.R. at 4 a.m.... I spent the day on the sofa in pain while DH worked... We miss out on a chance to be with either side of the family...:0(

Christmas was grand and so was my birthday... DH and I spent Christmas at my sisters and her families until DH had to go off to work and I stayed and played all day with them...

My birthday was great as well and you can read about it just a few posts down...:0)

Most of you do not know this but, I am a BIG drag race fan and this year we lost a great one to young 33 and to soon, a really bad crash took Eric Medlin he will be missed... The same team which is a family favorite in this house had a few set backs other than losing Eric... John's daughter Ashley was in a accident that looked bad but, she walked away from... Then John Force was in a bad accident that end the year for him... He spent some time in the hospital and is on a long road back to walking and everything else.. We hope that he makes it back this next season if not to drive to be there for the rest of the team that drives for him...

This past year has been grand and I hope that the next year is just as great...:0) As always I am reflecting on what has been, what is and what will be...

Thank you cards....

Two very fun and easy Thank you cards I made to send for the great gifts I got for Christmas this year....:0)

Both stamps are old Embossing Arts stamps...
First one I used Prismacolor pencils on, the second one I used my new Copic markers on... TFL

Thank you, everyone..... I had a great Birthday I went shopping with my DH all afternoon and I bought ton of new things...

My shopping all started the night before at Creative Express I got some new Embossing folders for my Cuttlebug... Then we went to M's and I got some new valetines and easter stamps from Studio G. line of dollar stamps (the red rubber ones).... I also got a pack of Heidi Grace clear stamps that I have been eyeing a long with some of the new Studio G. clear stamps for a dollar...

Then off to J's we went and I got a pair of Tonic scissors to try out... Not the kind for stamp cutting but, these look like the will work well for detail work on paper...

Then we went clothing shopping and I got two new pairs of jeans and a new shrit...


So, no ink on my hands but, enough things to try out this week and next to make my hands inky for a while.....

Then off to my sisters for nachos and chocolate cake and even more gifts, freinds and UFC fights.... My BIL was at them this is his second year to go and watch them...

She and her family bought me a ton of things, spoiled is what I am calling myself....
I got two Yankee candles, one Yankee plugin air freshener, Bath and body stuff in a Rasberry (yummy), a jewler box, neckelace and ear rings, a photo frame that says (I heart my sister), shampoo and conditioner and sweet sweater with a hood... And the best thing of all a card that reads.... Hope you enjoy and love every minute of your day! Happy Birthday... Now her part>> To a great sister we love you very much... Happy Birthday! Love, (undisclosed)...signed by them....

We got home and DH got me to order the other embossing folders that I wanted from J's online store.... Yes, I am spoiled.... I truly think between him and my sister they try really hard to make up for the childhood birthdays I had...

I also got a card from my father Pop and one from Gram my grandmother that is soon to be 90... And Many calls....

H.B. to me.....

Today is my birthday! I am 35 and I do not feel old yet... Age is only a number right....LOL Some days I feel way older and others just like a kid again....:0)))) I have a day of shopping with my DH and dinner and fun later at my sisters.... I got to sleep in I just got up a half hour ago at 8:30....:0)

It has sucked being a late Dec. birthday most of my life... I got the here is your Christmas/Birthday gifts line a lot.... I had very few parties as most of the time friends were with families for the holidays and money was tight.... It truly sucked no years my sister would get the same gifts for X-mas and then get B-day gifts and a party two months later.... My sister is a great sister she total make up for all those bad birthdays now...:0) Love you sis....:0)

Good day after!

Good day after all the fun.... I hope that you are all having fun playing with gifts or, being with your loved ones... I know that a lot of my friends and family are back at work already but, I have given this housekeeper the week off and part of next week as well....:0))) LOL

I mean really with Christmas, My Birthday and New Years so close I think I can spare the days off....:0) I am sure that my clients will miss me but, they love me enough to know I need a break....:0)))) And truly I feel like I am in the way cleaning around them all when they are home for the holidays.... I know that they say I am not and that I am part of the family after all these years... They are to kind but, you do start to feel like after cleaning for most of them for so long....:0))))

I have to play with my new toys for sure and see what other folders to buy and maybe a few dies as well....hehehehehe

I see a birthday shopping trip coming up...;0) DH will love that I am sure...:0)

I was at my sisters today and had a great time with her family.... My beloved had to work so, he only got to stay with us for a little bit before he had to run off.... He was missed...:0))))

I got a Cuttlebug for Christmas along with some of the embossing folders....Yippeee This is my very first ever die cutter.... I really wanted it for embossing for the main reason and to maybe someday get the Nestabilities... But, how did my sister know that I wanted it for embossing I will really never know... She is good, I did make her a list but, I did not put any of the folders or, the dies on the list...:0) DH says he did not tell her.... I guess we are more alike than either of us will ever know...:0)))


I really, really made up for not having time on turkey day with her and her girls... I got to play with the baby whom is now 6, also got to play games with my sister, BIL, DD#1 and her boyfriend... It was such a joy laughing and being silly...:0)))))

When I watch my sister play with DD#2 and it makes me almost cry.... She is such a great mommy.... She was just as fun to watch with DD#1 but, at that time I did not know we would not have any of our own and now it is that much more dear to me....

Well, I will go for now but, I truly hope that you all had a very blessed Christmas.... {{{{HUGZ}}}} TFL

1. As A child for many year I thought Christmas was for me seeing as how my B-day is so close to it... Little did I know that I was not the true reason for the Christmas until older...

2. I hated the fact that I always got the here is you Christmas/Birthday gifts from everyone... And they always had Christmas wrap on my B-day gifts if I did get any...:0( And to top it all off I got the speech about my B-day being so close to Christmas and your friends are off with family doing the family thing so, no parties... What really got to me is my sister and I are about three years a part in age and she would get the same Christmas gift as I would and Birthday gifts and a party just two short months later some times...:0( I did have a few parties growing up but, not many and most I knew about before hand they never where surprise parties...

3. Every year I got a new ornament growing up... And the year I was engaged to my beloved I bought our first one for us to start our life together.... And we now have one for ever year that we have been a couple... each and everyone has heart on it some where because, my engagement ring has a heart diamond....:0))))

4. We spend Christmas day at my sisters now... It is the highlight of my year to spend time with her girls... I love to see them open the gifts they get every year.....

5. I make reindeer pretzels every year for my sisters girls... I will show more on this later today...:0) Pop back over and check out my blog later...:0)

6. I have never spent a Christmas with my father that I can remember... I did not met my father until I was 20... And that was on the phone.... I have spent 4th of July with him and fathers day...

7. I love to go all out dec the halls so to say... And it is for just DH and I, the dog and the cat....:0)
Oh, yes, I do buy gifts for the dog and the cat...hehehehe

I have been working like a dog the last two weeks everyone wants their house cleaned before Christmas... So, that means housekeeper to the rescue....:0) One more day and I am off for a week and half...:0) TFL
